MyxTek
Music Performance Project
PABlo Bley
Born in Phoenix, I began my musical path at an early age through piano and violin studies while living in upstate New York. Then my family moved to Bend, Oregon, where I quickly expanded into composition, improvisation, and performance. In my teens, where I was dual-enrolled at Central Oregon Community College as a young student, I was already immersed in music theory, ensemble work, and the discipline of developing a personal voice on the keyboard. My influences span classical, jazz, rock, electronica, and experimental music, with a strong emphasis on blending structure with creative exploration.
Over the years, my work has evolved beyond traditional performance into a multidisciplinary approach that integrates music, technology, and digital systems. As both a composer and developer, I have built tools, platforms, and workflows that support creative production, live performance, and interactive media. This includes work in electronic music, multimedia environments, and real-time systems that connect sound, visuals, and audience experience.
I perform and release music under the name PABlo aka Phoenixbird, a creative identity that reflects both personal expression and a broader artistic framework. My work spans original compositions, improvisational pieces, and hybrid forms that incorporate elements of jazz, ambient, electronic, and world music influences.
Now collaborating with percussionist Jack Kriendler on the MYXTEK project, I bring a foundation of original material, sound design, and keyboard performance into a dynamic, genre-crossing context. MYXTEK represents an opportunity to merge acoustic and electronic elements, reinterpret familiar forms, and create a live experience that is both structured and exploratory—bridging tradition with innovation.

Originally from NYC, NY, I started playing in high school by listening and playing along with my favorite drummers of the late 60s and 70s: Ringo, Bonham, Mitch Mitchell and Keith Moon. Our band was The Black Sheep back then and we auditioned for a summer fill-in slot on the Ed Sullivan Show that aired in August '66; I peaked early... College gigs were in the New York and New England area. (Band names are in parentheses) (Naked Lunch, Wry Bred).
After a long hiatus from music and drums while working as a Speech and Language Pathologist, I found a nice pink champagne Ludwig drumset and started seriously studying drums in Tucson with the first call Tucson master, Fred Hayes, adding music reading, jazz, latin and world beats to broaden the technique and repertoire. It's been a privilege playing with some talented Tucson musicians (in The Meez, Sonic Pythons, Full Rockit, Pacific Buffalo and The Fossils of Rock). My wife and daughters pitched in for a set of Roland Vdrums which is an amazing, versatile and textured instrument. I have also been working on playing ukulele.
Now excited about working with PABlo Bley, fantastic and creative keyboardist on our project (MyxTek) combining some of PABlo's original material with unique arrangements of traditional classics, rock, jazz, electronica, and world music.
