MyxTek

  • Jack

Originally from NYC, NY, I started playing in high school by listening and playing along with my favorite drummers of the late 60s and 70s: Ringo, Bonham, Mitch Mitchell and Keith Moon. Our band was The Black Sheep back then and we auditioned for a summer fill-in slot on the Ed Sullivan Show that aired in August '66; I peaked early... College gigs were in the New York and New England area. (Band names are in parentheses) (Naked Lunch, Wry Bred).

After a long hiatus from music and drums while working as a Speech and Language Pathologist, I found a nice pink champagne Ludwig drumset and started seriously studying drums in Tucson with the first call Tucson master, Fred Hayes, adding music reading, jazz, latin and world beats to broaden the technique and repertoire. It's been a privilege playing with some talented Tucson musicians (in The Meez, Sonic Pythons, Full Rockit, Pacific Buffalo and The Fossils of Rock). My wife and daughters pitched in for a set of Roland Vdrums which is an amazing, versatile and textured instrument. I have also been working on playing ukulele.

Now excited about working with PABlo Bley, fantastic and creative keyboardist on our project (MyxTek) combining some of PABlo's original material with unique arrangements of traditional classics, rock, jazz, electronica, and world music.
